Our holiday on the Gower was four days long, welcoming Swansea-based guests. It was a truly special experience, bringing together individuals and families from diverse backgrounds to rest, connect, and enjoy time in nature and a rural community.

Set against the stunning landscape of the Gower, the holiday offered a peaceful break from everyday stresses. From the moment we arrived, there was a deep sense of care and welcome. Do-it-yourself pizzas from an outdoor oven brought everyone together on the first evening, followed by laughter, shared moments of play, and a glowing fire by the marquee that became our central gathering space.

Throughout the four days, we prepared meals together, spent time on the beach, planted in a local organic market garden, danced, chatted, and savoured spontaneous moments of joy and generosity. New friendships were formed, and there was space for both connection and rest.

The Gower Swansea Holiday became a place where people felt safe and truly seen, where refugees, volunteers, and local residents came together as equals. With thoughtful attention to everyone’s needs and a spirit of kindness at its heart, this holiday reminded us of the power of community and the importance of belonging.

It was a holiday full of warmth, joy, and humanity, one that we will carry with us, and hope to see continue and grow in the years to come.
