The landscape provided a tranquil but dramatic backdrop for this late summer holiday. A full programme included going for walks, Morris dancing, bell ringing, 2 music workshops and a delicious Devon cream tea, all offered by volunteers. But it was more than just activities that made this holiday special. Everyone was ready to relax and have a good time together, albeit some nervousness on first meetings. Thorough preparation from both the organising teams of the rural setting and the urban agency meant risk assessments, volunteer coordination, scheduling and meals were in place and the holiday unfolded with confidence and laughter.

The organisers on this holiday said they’d recommend SCH “unreservedly, I would say that SCH is very knowledgeable and experienced, inspiring and supportive and has many useful resources and advice. We have learnt so much from you.”

We were touched to hear one of their organising team said; “This is probably one of the most important and significant things I have done in my life.”
